We are the largest Union on Edwards Air Force Base, representing over 900 Wage Grade and Wage Leader (Blue-collar WG & WL) employees. Our bargaining unit consists mostly of aircraft maintenance personnel, civil engineering workers (electricians, painters, plumbers, etc.) and transportation personnel.
The Union represents the bargaining unit employees (BUEs) in all facets of labor/management relations; including the following:
1. Violations of the Contract and Federal Law (up to and including arbitration).
2. Unfair Labor Practices (ULPs) .
3. Complaints of discrimination and sexual harassment.
4. Appeals of Adverse Actions (removals, suspensions of more than 14 days, reductions in grade or pay, and furloughs of 30 days or less) to the Merit System Protection Board (MSPB). Other types of actions that may also be appealed to the MSPB are: performance based removals or reductions in grade, denials of within-grade salary increases, reduction-in-force actions, OPM suitability determinations, denials of restoration or reemployment rights, and termination of probationary employees (under certain circumstances).
5. Complaints of Prohibited Personnel Practices (PPP).
6. Participate in the negotiation of the AFMC Master Labor Agreement and Mid-term issues affecting AFMC bargaining unit employees.
7. Negotiate the Local Supplement to the AFMC Master Labor Agreement.
8. Actively participate in A-76/HPO/CPI processes.
9. Participate in partnership activities in support of the AFFTC/AFMC Partnership Council.
10. Participate in the AFFTC Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP)
